In the wake of Poland’s transition to a market economy after the 1990’s, this study examines an updated version of the mixed-use urban courtyard housing prototype, seeking congruence with historical and cultural precedent. This development is set within the context of Soviet-style slab housing developments on the outskirts of Lublin, Poland.
